More on the Indians Deadline Deals

About the other pitchers in the Ubaldo deal:
I think that both of the pitchers that Colorado will get can pitch effectively in Coors Field, but they will go about it in different ways.  I've seen a good amount of Alex White, from the time he was in college, to his brief stint a the major league level this year before he got hurt.  He mostly throws sinkers and splitters with a few sliders mixed in.  His sinker sits around 93, while his splitter is around 86.  He uses both of these to induce ground balls which will help him survive in the thin air of Colorado.  His slider is a work in progress, and will determine whether he will be an effective starter, or have a career as a late inning reliever.  I don't know much about Pomeranz, but i do know that he is a strikeout lefty who throws a fastball, curveball, and his third pitch is a changeup.  As long as he can keep the walks in check, his strikeout ability should help him keep runners off base, and limit the amount of balls put in play.

More about the Cubs:
I completely forgot to mention the Doug Davis era.  Nine starts of pure terrible.  Come on Cubs, just let Jeff Samardzija start.  That way he could lose the game early, instead breaking your hearts in the 8th inning, like he's been doing for four years now.
